Checking CT Coil is reading correctly (Direct CT or 1-Phase Meter)
Once you have installed a 1-Phase CT Coil or Eastron Meter or Owen Brothers Meter and want to check it is reading Grid Power correctly follow these steps
1. Turn Off the PV Isolator to remove the PV Input.
2. In System Mode > System1 Timers, set Target SOC of current time period to 100% to stop Batteries discharging.
NOTE - The Grid is now the ONLY source of Power to the Property
3. Return to Display Home Screen (with the 4x Dials) and touch AC Load Dial to view System Status Screen.
4. On Status Screen view the Grid Power section (Upper middle)
5. The HM or CT Reading MUST be a positive reading. Put a Kettle on to see this value increase by ~2.5kW to 3kW
6. If the HM or CT value is negative then flip the CT Clamp the other way around and repeat 5. above.
7. For a 1-Phase Eastron or Owen Brothers Meter you can select Grid Power mode on the Meter Display which should show positive values. If values are negative then flip the Meters CT Coil.
NOTE - The SDM120CT Eastron Meter should be supplied with its own 120A / 40mA CT Coil and it is NOT compatible with the Sunsynk 100A / 50mA CT Coil. The Eastron CT Coil has a ratio of 3000:1 and the Sunsynk is 2000:1 and this is not configurable on the single phase Eastron Meter. The Sunsynk will ONLY DISPLAY a value based on data being sent to it from the Eastron Meter so you must ensure the Eastron Meter is reading correctly.
For External Meter connection to Sunsynk Inverters please use this link –

NOTE – The Owen Brothers Meter will also be supplied with its own CT Coil too and the Sunsynk supplied CT Coil is not applicable.
Once you are confident that the CT / Eastron / OBM readings are correct, the PV can be restored and the current Timer SOC Target restored to its previous SOC% value.
